Organisation of the nervous system

There are many types of nerve cells (= neurons) which, together with glial cells, make up the nervous system.
Some of these are shown in Fig 2:-

Types of neurons

a) Purkinje cell (cerebellum

b) Small interneuron (spinal cord)

c) Spinal ganglion cell (dorsal root)

d) Pyramidal cell ( cerebral cortex)

e)Spinal motor neuron (ventral horn)

f) Bipolar cell (retina).
