This page links to sets of exam questions for you to work with. You'll be pleased to know that answers are also provided!
My experience as a script-marker enables me to give you some insight into the marking process.
Remember that each essay is marked out of 20:

  • 4 marks are for style/structure, so make sure you have an Introduction, middle (the factual info./discussion which may be sub-divided into smaller sections) and Conclusion (label them with headings to make sure that the marker can't miss them).
  • 4 marks are for understanding - you can maximise this by clarity of expression, making sure that the marker gets the distinct impression that you know what you're talking about in your essay!
  • 12 marks are for content. The script-marker has a mark-scheme indicating what is expected in the answer. You can actually check this for each of the practice questions provided here.

  • Each set of questions corresponds to what you could expect to see in the exam, i.e. a set of nine questions. You would only have to answer three of these in the exam, but in your revision of course you can try as many as you like.
There are links from the questions to their answers - so you can try them out and then mark them for yourself.

    Set A Set B Set C Set D
    Set E Set F Set G Set H

You can also work with various sets of multiple-choice questions, relevant to different parts of the course

No, there isn't a set of specific Book 6 MCQs. There's just a couple in the first set of 25 questions. A useful exercise might be to write some of your own, checking for correct, appropriate material in Book 6 - this may give you some insight into the "twisted logic" of these questions and also would help you remember some of the information.
