May's marvellous cell

Here, once again, is that glial cell, but with two magnified portions.
The features which you can see in the cytoplasm are consistent with an active secretory role for this cell.

glial cell
Here, we are closer to the point of origin of the glial processes.
The small ribosomal particles are still plentiful, as well as moderately large dense bodies. The two largest features showing here are probably also secretory material, having a slightly more angular appearance than pigment granules.
glial cell cytoplasm near glial process
This is part of the cytoplasm towards the base of the cell.
You can see some moderately dense bodies, as well as some relatively clear-looking vesicular or vacuolar organelles. There are also large numbers of small particles, interpreted as ribosomes.

You can see more details of the pigment cells, which appear to the left of our glial cell, in the Opiliones Notes.
