Terrestrial communities (especially spiders, birds) in relation to environmental parameters; Population genetics of arachnids using DNA sequencing techniques; Benthic invertebrates and shore birds of the Clyde Estuary; Montane invertebrate community studies; Islay bird studies - a large-scale investigation of land-use characteristics and their influence on rare birds, extended to the Low Intensity Agricultural Land project, with specific reference to governmental intentions for developments in large areas of Britain; European Forum on Birds and Pastoralism; Environmental Assessment procedures; computer handling of environmental data.
